Is it time to restring your tennis racquet? In order to stay in top tennis form, you need to restring your tennis racquet regularly. Strings are an extremely important thing to pay attention to. As much effort as you put into finding a racquet, you should put an equal amount into the strings, or even more, because if all goes as planned, the strings are the only thing that touches the ball. You spent $300 on your racquet, why ruin it and put some bad string in it?
How often are you supposed to restring your racquet? If you are not a string-breaker, the general rule of thumb is to restring as many times per year as the number of times you play per week. If, for example, you play 3 days a week, you should restring 3 times a year. Unless you use natural gut, no other string keeps the tension more than 18-20 hours. So you run the risk, after a while, to play with a "butterfly net". Some polyester strings last as long as 3 hours, then "die"!
Different tensions and types of strings can combine to give the ball a different bounce. When your strings are in great condition, it can improve your game!
Re-stringing your tennis racquet is vital to maintaining and maximising your performance.
World of Tennis offer professional re-stringing on a digital electronic machine to ensure you get the exact tension you want.
Our racquet stringing experts will have your racquet inspected and restrung within 24 hours.
More importantly, we will give expert consultation over what type of string and tension are right for your particular swing style/speed. Using the latest in stringing equipment, your racquet will be calibrated correctly to your specifications by an actual tennis professional.
The tightness of the strings can give you more control or more power. The string type is also a factor in performance.
All grades (monofilament, multifilament, natural gut, hybrid) of professional strings are available from brands such as Gamma, Babolat, Luxilon, Pacific, Ashaway and Tecnifibre.
